Tools I Use
I have a large inventory of the older
(a second source for the
Altera MAX5032), for which I use
Warp 2 and have been reasonably happy. Next time I purchase PLDs I may
move up to Cypress'
- SAVANT, TyVIS, and WARPED form a VHDL simulation system
- Cypress Semiconductor Corporation
offers a low-cost ($99) package for Windows called Warp 2. It includes
VHDL synthesis and simulation for their PLDs, and the new release 4
includes support for their FPGAs as well. (FPGA support was formerly
available only in the more expensive Warp 2+ package.)
Warp 2 release 4 is also available packaged with the book "VHDL for
Programmable Logic" by Kevin Skahill of Cypress Semiconductor, published by
Addison Wesley, ISBN 0-201-89573-0. I've seen this in bookstores for $41.95.
