Sona-PIC

Sona-PIC uses a PIC16C71 to interface to a Polaroid ultrasonic ranging module and output distances over a serial port at 4800 bps.

Microchip's Application Note AN597 describes a design of an Ultrasonic Ranging system based on a PIC16C74 and a Polaroid 6500 ranging module. By taking advantage of Timer 1 of the PIC16C74 it is possible to achieve higher resolution and background operation.
