RP06 drives on left side of truck

DEC RP06 disk drives lined up snug against the left wall of the truck ready for unloading. These were strapped down so that they would not roll around during the move every time the truck accelerated, braked, or turned. Newton's Laws of Motion apply to heavy computer equipment just as much as they do to apples and satellites. A heavy computer rack could gain enough momentum during a normal driving maneuver to burst through the wall of the truck. It is important to secure all heavy items in a truck no matter how short the drive. The closest RP06 was deinstalled and wrapped by the maintenance company. Previous Photo Next Photo
