As you are doubtless aware, Hanpeter van Vliet granted a license to distribute the mocha-b1.zip file, provided that it is unaltered. I quote from the Readme.txt file that is part of that file: The distribution archive (file "mocha-b1.zip") may be distributed freely, provided its contents ("mocha.zip" and this file, "readme.txt") are not tampered with in any way. The license does not contain any provision for termination based on an expiration date, release of a newer version, or sale of the product to another party, therefore it is still in force. As I am in full compliance with this license, I intend to continue distributing the unmodified mocha-b1.zip. If you believe that Borland International has acquired exclusive rights to mocha-b1.zip, I recommend that you consult with legal counsel. However, I am quite willing to add a link from my web page to Borland's JBuilder page as you suggest. I expect that Borland has made many valuable improvements to Mocha and Crema, and I am certain that many people will wish to purchase JBuilder in order to obtain the improved Mocha capabilities, after first trying out the freely redistributable version. As an employee of Borland International, you should realize and appreciate that a large portion of Borland's early success was quite likely attributable to the fact that Borland's software license was the most reasonable one in the industry. Borland's customers certainly appreciated it. I personally have purchased many Borland products, and will probably continue to do so. Therefore I hope you will recognize that when people continue to exercise their rights under the license that Hanpeter granted, it is in Borland's own best interest. Any attempt by Borland to supress the lawful distribution of mocha-b1.zip will surely not generate good will toward Borland from the user community. Sincerely, Eric Smith Brouhaha Computer Mercenary Services
